Adolf Henrik Lindstrøm
Adolf Henrik Lindstrøm was born in Hammerfest 17.05.1866. At age 15, he made his virgin voyage in the Arctic Ocean as a galley boy. Between 1903 and 1913 Lindstrøm was a chef for several expeditions with both Roald Amundsen and Otto Sverdrup. Lindstrøm was the first Norwegian to sail in one trip around the entire American continent. Lindstrøm served his famous dish “Biff à la Lindstrøm” on many of the expeditions he was part of. The famous dish is nowadays on many menus of restaurants all over the world.
